PlayMockUp
About

Built for makers who care how their app looks.

A free, offline device-mockup studio — built by an indie maker for the people shipping screenshots to Google Play and the App Store.

PlayMockUp started with a familiar problem. We were shipping a new Android app, we had the screenshots, and we wanted them to look like they belonged on Google Play next to apps backed by ten-person design teams. Every existing tool was either a subscription, a clunky web editor, or it forced us to upload screenshots to someone else's server.

So we built our own. PlayMockUp runs entirely on your phone. You drop in a screenshot, pick a real device frame, choose a background, and export at the exact resolution the store asks for. No accounts. No uploads. No subscriptions.

The app ships with 14 device frames — iPhone 14, Pixel 8, Samsung S23 and S10+, Xiaomi 14, iPad Pro, Samsung Tab, 7" and 10" tablets, a generic tablet, MacBook Pro and a generic laptop, plus iMac and a generic desktop. It supports batch mode so you can build a full store listing from one template, it has a 50-step undo history, and it auto-saves every five seconds.

It's free. There's a small watermark on exports that you can remove by watching a single rewarded video. That's the whole business model.

PlayMockUp is part of a small portfolio of focused, useful apps and tools we ship for a living. If you've got feedback or want to say hi, get in touch.
